THE MOST EMOTIONAL DAY

EN DUYGUSAL GÜN

               Öğretmenlik en kutsal meslek, bilirsiniz. Benim de hayalim öğretmen olmaktı. Gözlerimi kapattığımda bir sınıfta birine bir şey öğretirken hayal ederdim kendimi. Birine bir şey öğretmekten aldığım hazzı başka bir şeyden alamazdım. Evet, nihayet öğretmenim ve bu kariyerimin başlangıcında tattığım en güzel duygudan yani en unutamadığım anımdan bahsetmek isterim.

               İşimi severek yapıyorum. Her ne kadar öğrencilerin genelinde İngilizceye dair önyargı olsa da buna rağmen yıllar boyu edindiğim her şeyi öğrencilere aktarmak benim için dünyanın en güzel olayı. Safa Lisesi’nde ise bu duyguyu birebir tattım. Öğrenciler kıpır kıpır, dersler muhteşem geçiyor. Evet, çok yoruluyoruz. Ama bir yürekte bıraktığım ize şahit olunca, inanın her şey bu yorgunluğa değiyor.

               İlk öğretmenler günüm, öğrencilerimden uzakta geçti. Uzaktan eğitim sürecinde öğretmenlik yapmak bambaşka bir şeydi. Öğretmenlik yapıyorum ama sanki bir şeyler eksikti. Öğrencilerle göz teması kuramadan, minik yüreklere bıraktığım izi göremeden öğretmenliğin hazzına varamamıştım. Yüz yüze eğitim yılında yaşadığım ilk öğretmenler günüm öyle duygu dolu geçti ki anlatamam. En basitinden dersine girdiğim bütün öğrencilerin gözünde her zamandan farklı bir minnet bakışı vardı. Gözleri parlayarak “iyi ki varsınız öğretmenim!” demeleri koskoca yılın yorgunluğunu aldı götürdü adeta. Öğrencilerin yanı sıra üniversiteden arkadaşlarım, çalışma arkadaşlarım ve ailem tek tek günümü kutladı. Hediye gönderenler oldu. Hayatımda almadığım kadar çiçek aldım diyebilirim hatta J Çevremdeki herkes en az ben kadar bu mesleğin insanların yetişme dönemlerinde en çok iz bırakan ve en kutsal bir meslek olduğunun farkındalar. Onların kutlaması da ayrı bir heyecan kattı ki günüme sormayın.

               Gel gelelim, bu günün sabahında neler hissettim, onu konuşalım. Her zamankinden farklı hislerle başladım güne. Okula gelmeye hazırlanırken içim kıpır kıpırdı adeta. Evden çıktığımda “bugün benim ilk öğretmenler günüm olacak, iyi ki öğretmenim!” diyerek yola koyuldum. Okula vardığımda herkeste sahip olduğum neşe vardı. Gözlerimizden belliydi. Henüz ders zili çalmadan öğrenciler bir bir yanımıza akın etti ve sevgi dolu anlar yaşadık. Tüm gün neşeli, huzurlu geçti. Hem öğretmenlerle kendi aramızda hem de öğrencilerle tüm gün pasta kestik, kutlama yaptık. Özellikle kendi sınıfım, ilk öğrencilerimin o gün sahip oldukları bakışları ve gözlerinin parlamasını ömrüm boyunca unutamam.

               Safa ailesinden olma mutluluğuyla sözlerime son vermekteyim. İyi ki öğretmen oldum, iyi ki öğretmenlerimden hayatım boyunca aldığım ışığı öğrencilerime veriyorum. Bu ilk öğretmenler günü bende çok iz bıraktı. Geleceğe saygın bireyler kazandırırken minik yüreklerde izler bırakmanın mutluluğunu o gün hat safhada yaşadım ve ömrüm boyunca bu ilk öğretmenler gününü unutmayacağım.

               Bütün öğretmenlerin her günü kutlu olsun! İyi ki öğretmeniz.

THE MOST EMOTIONAL DAY

               Teaching is the most sacred profession, you know. My dream was to be a teacher too. When I closed my eyes, I would picture myself teaching someone something in a classroom. I couldn't get the pleasure I get from teaching someone anything else. Yes, I am finally a teacher and I would like to talk about the best feeling I have experienced at the beginning of my career, that is, the most unforgettable and emotional day.

               I love my job. Although there is a prejudice against English in general, transferring everything I have learned over the years to students is the best thing in the world for me. At Safa High School, I experienced this feeling exactly. The students are fidgety, the lessons are going great. Yes, we are very tired. But when you witness the trace we left in a heart, believe me, everything is worth this tiredness.

               My first teacher's day was spent away from my students. Being a teacher in the distance education process was something completely different. I was a teacher, but it felt like something was missing. I could not enjoy teaching without being able to make eye contact with the students and see the mark I left on tiny hearts. My first teacher's day in the face-to-face education year was so full of emotion that I cannot describe it. To put it simply, all the students I attended had a different look of gratitude than usual. With the eyes shining, "So glad I have you, Madam!" their saying took away the tiredness of the whole year. In addition to the students, my friends from the university, my colleagues and my family celebrated my day one by one. They have sent gifts. I can even say that I have bought more flowers than I have ever bought in my life J Everyone around me is aware as much as I am that this profession is the most sacred and the most important profession in people's growing up period. Their celebration also added a different excitement ask my day.

               Let's talk about what I felt in the morning of this day. I started the day with more different feelings than usual. As I was getting ready to come to school, my heart was shaking. When I leave the house, "today will be my first teachers' day, I'm glad that I’m a teacher!" I set off. When I got to school, everyone had the same joy I had. It was evident in our eyes. Before the class bell rang, students flocked to us one by one and we had moments of love. The whole day passed happily and peacefully. We cut a cake and celebrated with the teachers and students all day long. I can't forget the look of my class, my first students, and the shine of their eyes that day.

               I end my words with the happiness of being from the Safa family. I am glad that I became a teacher, I am glad that I give my students the light that I have received from my teachers throughout my life. This first teacher's day left a mark on me. I experienced the happiness of leaving traces in little hearts while bringing respectable individuals to the future, and I will never forget this first teacher's day in my life.
